History
Terran discovery
Colonia vas discovered by Von Neumann probe 354-332-45 on E-date 2164-12-15-sync and classified locally as s63-p3-l3, as the third moon of the third planet of the sixty-third star to be explored by the probe.
Terraformation
On E-date 2226-08-02-sync, an automated VN Terraformer crashed on the surface of Colonia, initiating a terraformation process. Klar’s unpredictable solar weather combined had unexpected effects on the transformation process, which resulted in an incomplete terraforming.
Nano-converters designed to bio-engineer local life into Terran-adjacent biology failed in some locations, resulting in a mix of silicon and carbon-based life to coexist. The atmospheric transformation also failed to reach a target of 20% di-oxygen, resulting in a breathable atmosphere with 12% O2 and 86% N2.
On E-date 2326-08-01-sync, after having received no command from Central, the VN master coordinator shut down the terraformation process and entered hibernation mode. The patchy network attempted to cycle itself, albeit unsuccessfully, causing it to enter standby mode and develop interface faults that would become apparent upon settlement centuries later.
Human settlement
See History of Colonia.
Colonia was settled by humans around E-date 2511-01-01-sync by two needleships which crashlanded on both continents.
